Workshop Description

This workshop is about improving yourself in life and in work through a deeper understanding of human behaviour.  By getting to grips with you own emotional reactions and better understanding the emotional triggers of others, you will drastically improve your ability to grasp what is actually driving a given situation and adapt your behaviour to gain the most beneficial outcome. This exciting new two-day workshop also looks at how we can use aspects of ‘Human Givens’ to improve ourselves both professionally and personally.

Who will benefit?

Those with Leadership and / or management responsibility wishing to explore new ways of handling and understanding interpersonal relationships and the motivation of others.  This workshop is particularly useful for those who struggle to understand some of their team or who find themselves surprised by colleagues’ actions as well as those who need to interact with internal or external customers on a regular basis.

Delegates will learn to:

Understanding emotions:

  • What is emotion and where does emotion come from;
  • The difference between emotions and feelings;
  • What exactly is emotional intelligence;
  • Recognising and understanding our own and other people’s emotions;
  • The role of emotions and feelings in decision-making.
  • How to manage one’s internal states, impulses and resources;
  • How to control disruptive emotions.

Personal competencies:

  • Identifying and assessing the personal competencies of EQ;
  • Cultivating self-awareness and the ability to control our own feelings;
  • How to have a flexible and adaptive approach to change;
  • Cultivating awareness of others’ feelings, needs and concerns;
  • Empathy – its essential role in managing and leading others;
  • Building collaborative relationships;
  • Resolving emotional exchanges in conflict situations.

Skills development:

  • The social skills of influence, communication and conflict management;
  • Building trust and commitment by emotional allegiance;
  • The empathic response; the art of non-judgemental and reflective listening;
  • Drawing out facts, feelings and meaning in an emotionally charged situation.

Workshop Duration

This is a 2 day workshop.

Workshop Cost

  • This workshop costs £1400 for an in house delivery with a maximum of 12 delegates for two days
  • This workshop costs £175 per delegate when booked on an open course. Maximum number on open course is 10 delegates.
